In 2007, we realized that our local neighborhood—especially the wonderful retirement communities like Frisco Lakes—needed a reliable, safe, and elite home service provider they could trust without hesitation.
We launched this business to bring that exact same high-level firefighter discipline and safety-first mindset to everyday home maintenance. Philip Burr has dedicated his career to public service, serving as an active Frisco Firefighter since 2006. Throughout nearly two decades of duty, he has maintained an unwavering commitment to the safety of the Frisco community, alongside a strong passion for mentoring and training rookie firefighters.
Following a proud tradition among first responders, Philip channeled his disciplined work ethic into entrepreneurship, founding a side business specialized in handyman services and custom holiday lighting. Widely recognized for his absolute honesty, meticulous attention to detail, and hard work, Philip creates a comfortable, trusted environment for every client he serves. Above all, he is a dedicated family man who deeply values spending quality time with his wife and four children.
Kristin Burr, Owner/Operator
Kristen Burr is the co-owner and operational backbone of Off-Duty Home Services, managing the business alongside her husband, Philip, since its founding in 2007. In addition to driving the company’s daily operations, she works directly in the field, executing both handyman projects and custom holiday light installations.
As the primary point of contact for all phone, text, and email communications, Christin is deeply committed to superior customer service. She mirrors Philip's core values of absolute honesty and clear communication, ensuring every client feels genuinely heard and valued. Characterized by a resilient, positive attitude and a dynamic, engaging personality, Christin excels at navigating high-stress situations with ease, consistently building strong, trusted relationships with the communities they serve.
